Third Time Lucky

Ok, so after '4 hours and a thoroughly pissed off student later' I decided due to rendering time and aesthetics to change textures and lighting inside the nucleus yet again. I feel better about the appearance and hopefully rendering time is more than halved!!!

Tester Render Scene 1

Ok so this is the tester, I still have to edit key frames as the pace feels too 'jumpy' and at one point the move into the shadows is undesired. However, seeing it in motion and rendered has given me a little more confidence.

Chromosome Texture

So at this stage in the project it's inevitable that I either will have a stroke of genius or become completely mental - although I'm edging towards the second I hope the texture I created for the chromosome leans towards the first!! Using 'Wet Otter' fur I have created what will hopefully be the final texture for my chromosome.

Animation Test: Pulsing Cell and Scene One

Using blend shapes I created a pulsing cell, below is a playplast tester to see what pulses work and which ones do not.

Below is an attempt to capture my first sequence with camera movement and cell pulsing, I'm not sure this is fully effective yet.

Nucleus Experimentation

A few quick Maya experiments with texture and lighting, using my own textures, bump and spec mapping.
